| Faced with the increase in male violence, CCOO-RM reinforces its commitment by activating the ´CCOO Secure Headquarters´ service | Nothing stops male violence, we have verified how even in times of pandemic and confinement, in the Region of Murcia there was an increase of 15% of active cases of gender violence during the month of March. CCOO RM expresses its deepest rejection of the machista aggression suffered by a woman, and perpetrated by her partner, in the town of Archena.
The union organization regrets the seriousness of their state, as well as their suffering and that of their minor children, witnesses to the inexcusable violence by the aggressor. Currently, according to the Comprehensive Monitoring System (Viogen), nearly 3,000 women are at medium or high risk of suffering an assault in our region.
There are hundreds of cases of special relevance, such as those of minors in vulnerable situations and cases in which the risk is very high because the life of minors is threatened with death by the aggressor. It is incalculable the number of women and minors who suffer abuse by a macho aggressor, it is also incalculable the number of people who will be marked by moral or physical consequences.
The pain, humiliation, vexation and despair suffered by women and also girls and boys because of the machista attacks is unimaginable. CCOO RM in addition to speaking out against sexist violence, expresses its support by offering for years a professional resource to care for women victims of gender violence included in the resource guide of the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy .
It is an Information and Advice Service against Gender Discrimination in the workplace. But given the increase in male violence in CCOO RM, we reinforced our commitment to combat them by activating the CCOO Safe Headquarters service promoted by the Confederal Secretary for Women and Equality.
We put our union resources at the disposal of the fight against sexist violence, facilitating care for victims to obtain the necessary help for their protection.
At CCOO RM any woman who is suffering sexist violence in the workplace or on the staff will find a free and safe space in which we will offer help and advice.
