| The Mayor makes a visit to each of them and highlights that "with these courses we want to continue ensuring family reconciliation, also in summer" | The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, and several Councilors from her Municipal Government Team have visited the Tennis, Basketball, and children with special needs summer schools.
The first councilor has once again highlighted after the visit that "the great municipal commitment is that these summer schools continue to be carried out in this difficult year, so that families who wish to continue to enjoy this season as well, while being able to achieve the long-awaited family reconciliation, also in summer ". The one of Tennis, directed by Juan David Cano, is integrated by 50 registered students, between 5 and 14 years old, and from 9.00 to 14.00, every morning they carry out different activities, such as various creative workshops, self-defense and hiking, not including a swimming pool, due to the health crisis.
Both in this school and in basketball, the corresponding restrictions are being carried out due to COVID-19, such as the limitation of the number of places, not opening the municipal hall, limiting the spaces for each of the schools, use Independent of the toilets for each of them, distance, masks, daily temperature check, maximum groups of 10 per monitor, specifically in this one in Tennis, there are five managers, among the most outstanding. The other sport, that of UBA (Unión Baloncesto Archena), coordinated by Darío Solana, has 30 students enrolled, between 6 and 13 years old, and they also teach from 9 to 14.00 hours, with three monitors for every 10 children .
Besides basketball itself, they carry out craft activities, manual workshops and games such as ping-pong, badminton, among others.
Both sports schools are held at the Municipal Sports Center. As for the one that is working in the Miguel Medina offices, it is again the UNE-T association that is carrying it out with 10 dependent children, between 6 and 16 years old, with special needs and attended by 5 monitors .
They carry out daily crafts and cooking workshops, mainly. Both the Mayor and the Councilors themselves have verified 'in situ' the development of these summer schools and, above all, that all the measures established for the control and prevention of Covid-19 are being complied with.
She also explained that each monitor has completed a special course on 'Prevention of occupational risks related to this virus'.
