| Fecoam and Agrupal applaud this “right” decision for the worrying situation that is taking place in this sector | The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, continuing with the municipal campaign of 'Archena Safe Destination' and after meeting with representatives of FECOAM, AGRUPAL and local agri-food companies, has decided to imminently start the campaign of carrying out mass tests on workers in local agricultural, agribusiness and logistics companies.

"The objective is that no company has to stop its activity in the event of possible outbreaks in its work centers, causing new irreversible economic and job losses." These statements were made by the First Authority during an appearance before the media this morning, where it also made it clear that “we cannot stop the economy again in the middle of the summer season.We have to take advantage of this mini season and protect our companies, our workers and our citizens, that is why it has been necessary to launch this test campaign for these workers in the fields and in the garden of Archena ”.There are more than thirty fruit and vegetable companies located in the municipality that manage to provide work for this season of fruit collection to more than two thousand people, among seasonal workers and residents of Archena.The Mayor has also underlined that she has taken this initiative urgently to fight the battle against the epidemic and protect as much as possible the local economy and especially the health of its citizens.

"Despite the fact that this campaign was scheduled to start in early September, the outbreaks detected throughout the national territory, and the statements of the President of the Region of Murcia, which has underlined the complicated situation in the region , it has been necessary to start it imminently ”.The presidents of FECOAM and AGRUPAL, who have accompanied Patricia Fernández in this appearance, have given the municipality of Archena as an example and applauded this decision of its Mayor “for the worrying situation that is taking place in this sector, not only in some points in Spain but even in the Murcian Region ”.
