| Successfully starts the first phase of carrying out massive COVID-19 detection tests announced by the Mayor, to turn Archena into a 'Safe Tourist Destination' | This morning we have known the results of the more than 250 tests carried out on the Archena Spa workers, all of which were negative.

This was stated, first thing in the morning, by the mayor herself: "It is great news that all the tests carried out on the workers of the main tourist establishment in the town are negative.

Now more than ever we can offer, with reliable data, that Archena is a safe tourist destination.

" These covid-19 detection tests will be repeated, periodically, to all workers of those hotel establishments that have joined the initiative proposed by the Mayor of Archena, so that both tourists and our neighbors are certain that our municipality offers extra security against the virus. The first municipal councilor, Patricia Fernández, has insisted that "this measure has a dual objective; on the one hand, we offer tourists a safe tourist destination to guarantee the tourist and economic viability of the municipality; and on the other hand, we protect our population reducing and monitoring possible external contagions ". This initiative that has been launched thanks to public-private collaboration, where the Archena City Council will defray a significant percentage of the expenditure, has allowed the number of hotel reservations in the municipality, in recent days, to have increased by more than 20% since the municipal initiative was known. Starting today, Friday, massive tests begin to be carried out on all tourists who stay at least two nights in any of the hotel accommodations in our municipality.

The City Council itself has designed an action protocol, in collaboration with the professionals of the Archena Health Center, the Archena Spa and the "Cardiosalus" Clinic, to guide the steps to be followed in carrying out these covid detection tests.

19. In the next few days the second phase of this initiative will begin, aimed at carrying out tests on the rest of the population, taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological criteria dictated by the sanitary authorities.
