Starting next Monday, June 22, and during the months of July and August, Archena will carry out the Covid-19 tests on its citizens and tourists staying in local tourist accommodation and hotels. The mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, has agreed with the health officials of the municipality, the representatives of the Spa and with the group Clínicas Salud, to carry out the COVID19 detection test on all tourists from outside the Region who visit the municipality in the summer months: "this measure has a double objective; on the one hand, we offer tourists a safe tourist destination to guarantee the tourist and economic viability of the municipality; and on the other hand, we protect our population by reducing and monitoring possible external contagions" . This ambitious initiative will be launched thanks to public-private collaboration, where the Archena City Council will cover a significant percentage of the cost. From the first moment the State of Alarm was decreed, the Archena City Council prepared a Health Emergency Plan, which was complemented by a set of deep social, economic and employment measures.

"When we presented this Emergency Plan in March, we already planned to carry out massive tests in the 'Archena Te Cuida' project, along with more than 70 measures to prevent contagion, prevent the spread of viruses, and combat the effects social and economic aspects of the epidemic, "declared the First Municipal Authority. Consequently, tourists visiting the municipality will have the certainty that the employees of the Spa who attend them, will have gone through the analysis of a rapid test CCOVID-19 of maximum effectiveness, so that the risks of contagion are greatly reduced.

And in the same way, the citizens of Archena will have the certainty that tourists from outside the region who visit the municipality, buy in their shops, or consume in their bars or restaurants, have gone through the same analysis so their ability to spreading infections is reduced in an extraordinary way. The mayor added: "As the head of the municipality, it has become an obsession to implement all the protection measures for my citizens, not only in the social and economic but also in the health field.

We became the first municipality in the region and the few in Spain, which have done rapid mass tests on the population and tourists.
