| Mayor: "we want to develop values ??that favor true equality" | The Mayor and the Councilor for Equality of Archena, Patricia Fernández and María José Guillén, respectively, presented this morning the project of what will be the II Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities, with the participation of the Equality Agent, Francisco Panalés, in the presence representatives of women's collectives and associations of the municipality and techniques of the City Council and the Local Police.
After this presentation, the Municipal Equality Commission was also established, which will monitor compliance with this plan. The main objective is to continue promoting positive action measures aimed at eliminating inequalities or specific barriers, on the other hand, the introduction of gender perspectives in all areas of local public policies, through coordination between departments and councils. Patricia Fernández highlighted that "despite the important social changes that have occurred in recent times, the situation of women and men in general, and in the labor market in particular, continues to present notable differences, so after That I Equality Plan, we have continued with the elaboration of this II Equality Plan in order to develop values ??that favor a true equality between men and women of the municipality, in all areas, in their public and private life ".
He also commented that "for all this, strategic measures and plans are required in which the objectives, areas and measures of action on which public administrations must focus their actions are specified, hence the elaboration of this equality plan in the Archena City Council ".
