Miguel Motas meets with the mayor of Archena to analyze these initiatives and the evolution of employment in the municipality
A total of ten unemployed people in Archena have been hired for a period of six months to participate in two projects to improve the green areas, gardens and urban spaces of the municipality, which are already underway and will conclude throughout this year.
Both initiatives, included in the Local Public Employment program, have been funded with a grant of 102,000 euros from the Ministry of Employment, Research and Universities, through the SEF.
The counselor, Miguel Motas, met today with the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, to analyze these projects, as well as other common initiatives to boost employment and training in the municipality.
They also studied the latest unemployment figures in Archena, which reflect a decrease of 110 unemployed compared to a year ago (9.14 percent less).
The first Local Public Employment project is the 'Improvement and enhancement of green areas and municipal urban spaces', which has a grant of 49,000 euros by the Ministry for the hiring of five masonry laborers.
It is already underway and is scheduled to be completed at the end of this March.
The second initiative is that of 'Socially responsible Archena: activation of urban spaces and municipal gardens', which began at the end of 2019 and will conclude in mid-June.
In this case, the Employment subsidy is 53,000 euros, and has allowed the hiring of five other public works laborers for work such as repainting or irrigation installation.
Motas stressed that the participants in the two programs "not only reactivate, gain paid work experience and increase their options for future employment, but also perform tasks in initiatives of social interest to the municipality. The benefit is twofold."
