The City of Archena has informed Huermur of the start of a file of restoration of urban legality by the tubing of a part of the Caravija ditch, after the complaint of the conservation entity.
The Ombudsman, at the request of Huermur, keeps an investigation open to the City Council of Archena for the lack of transparency in providing a series of documentation on the irrigation infrastructures of the Archena ditch, which was requested by the collective in March 2019 and today remains unanswered.
Huermur is still waiting for the Ministry of Culture to deign to respond on the pipelines that were reported in March, and if they could have affected some type of cultural heritage in the area ..
The Association for the Conservation of the Huerta and the Patrimony of Murcia (Huermur) denounced last March 2019 before the Department of Urbanism of the City of Archena some tubing works that were being carried out in the Caravija de Archena ditch, to the height of the Acebuche ferris wheel landscape next to the Segura river.
All this after the notice of neighbors and local groups.
After months without response from the municipality to the complaint filed, Huermur referred the matter to the Ombudsman in Madrid for a response from the local administration.
Answer that after the information requirements of the Ombudsman to the City of Archena, this week has been communicated to Huermur indicating the beginning of a file of restoration of urban legality in a part of the ditch of Caravija.
In the same vein, the High Commissioner of the General Courts, at the request of Huermur, keeps an investigation open to the Archena City Council for the lack of transparency in providing a series of documentation on the irrigation infrastructures of the Archena ditch .
Documentation that was requested by Huermur in March 2019 under the Law of Transparency, Access to Public Information and Good Governance, and that today remains unanswered.
Huermur also notes that he is still waiting for the General Directorate of Cultural Property of the Ministry of Culture, to respond to Huermur's letter requesting report on whether the tubing works that were reported in March could have affected some type of cultural heritage of the area and if they had permits from the Ministry, since it is known the existence of an archaeological site in the place and the Ferris wheel of the Acebuche that is cataloged and protected by its cultural values.
