The archenera Andrea Marco, of the Triathlon Club Murcia, and the ceheginero Juan Francisco Fernández, of the Triathlon Club Archena, took yesterday afternoon with the first positions in the absolute feminine and masculine category, respectively, in the popular San Silvestre de Archena race.
There have been more than 600 participating runners enrolled in this popular and festive race, which this year turned XII, with much more public attendance.
Everything started and ended in the 1º de Mayo square.
The smallest and later children, fry and youth and absolute began.
The corridors arrived from almost all points in the Region of Murcia and from other towns in neighboring provinces.
The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez Lopez, one more edition, kicked off the different categories of runners and sometimes helped by councilors of the Municipal Government Team, who also collaborated with the first governor in the delivery of trophies and gifts at the end of the afternoon.
Hundreds of spectators, many more than in previous years, despite the prevailing cold, accompanied and encouraged the participants
The Mayor then congratulated both the organizers and the volunteers who collaborated in the infrastructure, as well as the agents of the Local Police who worked to make this sporting event a success.
Many of the runners participated dressed as the most friendly and cheerful characters and sequences of television or cinema, who also won awards and recognition .. Batman, Captain America, the Flintstones, Shrek and Fiona, Estrellaos de Levante, Magi, the recreation of a Nativity of Bethlehem, were the most applauded.
More than 60 businesses and companies have collaborated in this edition.
