The general director of Water, Sebastián Delgado, visited this week several works that are carried out in the municipal terms of Archena, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar for an amount of about 170,000 euros, charged to the budget of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Environment.
It is, on the one hand, the replacement works of the wall on the left bank of the main ditch of Alguazas, passing through the border between the municipal areas of Archena and Ceutí, near the districts of La Algaida and Los Torraos , with an award budget of just over 48,000 euros.
Although the works are located within the municipality of Archena, the most benefited by these will be the irrigators of the Ceuta Heritage, located downstream.
The works focus on a section of about 75 meters that was affected by the torrential rains of last September, when the Acequia Mayor de Alguazas received an extraordinary contribution of flow from the rainwater contributed from both the urban areas through which it runs as of the drains of labor lands and troughs along its route.
On the other hand, the general director supervised the actions that are carried out in the general network of drinking water supply in the so-called Dead River road, also in the municipality of Archena.
The general network of drinking water that serves the existing subscribers in this place is a pipe with numerous leaks, especially due to their age and type of joint, which causes breakdowns and power cuts.
The work in progress, for an amount of just over 47,000 euros, consists of the renovation of a section of about 378 meters, with 110 mm diameter high density polyethylene pipe, and replacement of the 22 existing household connections.
It also proceeds to paving the section of road affected.
Likewise, Sebastián Delgado verified the status of the works that are carried out on the public access road to the hospital of Los Arcos, in Pozo Aledo, in the municipality of San Javier, consisting of the repair of a section of road damaged by September rains, with a budget of just over 34,200 euros.
He also visited those that take place at three points in the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, on roads affected by heavy rainfall.
Specifically, the actions focus on the roads of Los Sáez, Los Tárragas and Los Veras and the amount of the investment amounts to more than 40,300 euros.
