The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the operation 'Satagana', has developed an investigation to clarify an altercation in Archena in which firearms were used, which has culminated in the arrest of five people and the seizure of several firearms, a prohibited weapon, abundant cash and a marijuana plantation, as well as large amount of buds of this substance.
The proceedings began last October, when in a street in the town of Archena a brawl took place between members of two families of gypsy ethnicity, in which firearms were used, which caused some social alarm among the neighbors for the virulence of the event.
The Civil Guard opened the corresponding operation to investigate the facts with the purpose and clarify them with the arrest of their authors, that the opinion was not the first time that events of similar characteristics were developed.
The first inquiries made it possible to verify that during the fight they used at least one gun-type firearm and a shotgun.
The facts, in addition, were recorded and published in social networks by the neighbors, reaching the end to the researchers.
The members of the Judicial Police of the Benemérita, who led the investigation, analyzed the audiovisual content related to the event and established different working hypotheses on the motives and people involved.
In addition, a strong surveillance device was established around the suspects, with the aim of trying to prevent the commission of more crimes of this type and discover and intervene in the weapons used, of alleged illegal origin.
Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Civil Guard developed the operation phase of the operation that was composed of more than fifty agents, due to the danger of any of those involved and to prevent any type of alteration of public order.
During the early hours of Tuesday, December 17, prior judicial authorization, the Civil Guard made the entry and search of three homes in which the suspects were surprised and the weapons used, allegedly, in the fight were seized. the time a point of sale of narcotic substances was dismantled and an indoor plantation with more than a hundred plants located in one of the houses was dismantled.
The development of the operation has allowed the dismantling of two rival groups that allegedly engaged in criminal activities related to the illicit traffic of narcotic substances in Archena, as well as in other localities of the Region, for this they showed certain danger and a high capacity for acting due to the possession and use of firearms.

In all three registers, the Civil Guard has dismantled a clandestine indoor greenhouse, which contained more than a hundred marijuana plants, and has seized more than a kilo of buds of this substance.
They have seized a shotgun, a gun, an extensible defense prohibited weapon, a machete and 9,000 euros in cash, as well as all the elements that made up the marijuana greenhouse.
Two of those arrested have entered prison
The Spanish detainees, aged between 20 and 31, neighbors of Archena, the seized drug, the weapons and effects seized and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Molina de Segura (Murcia), who has held the leadership judicial operation and has decreed the entry into prison of two of those arrested.
