[Archena Manifesto Reading.
International Day against Gender Violence]
The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, accompanied by the Councilor for Women, Maria José Guillén, and other councilors of the Government Team and professional techniques of this municipal department, before more than a hundred people, among which were Bachelor students, has read the Institutional Manifesto corresponding to the International Day against Gender Violence, at the door of the Town Hall, in Plaza de España.
Before reading the first local authority, some of these students have also read their own manifesto condemning this type of violence.
Since last November 18, the Department of Women develops a program of events on the occasion of this commemoration and that has continued until today with the reading of the Institutional Manifesto.
The Mayor has referred, in her reading, to "there are still a large number of women. Too many who suffer gender violence because they are women."
He also assured during the reading that "against Gender Violence, we want to record our social commitment to this fight, which must be joint against any act that threatens the dignity of women, and defend a fair and equal society, in the one that women and men of equal form we can participate in all the scopes and take the decisions that affect us jointly "
