The Municipal Government Board of Archena has given its approval this morning at the start of the planning works in the area of ​​the old Miguel Medina school.
The works will consist of:
- Provide the intersection between Avenida del Carril, Daniel Ayala Avenue and the Carretera del Balneario, with a mini roundabout that allows the turning of these three main traffic axes of the population, without the need for traffic lights.
-Expand the pedestrian spaces and improve accessibility in the vicinity of the old building of the Miguel Medina school, in the area located on Avenida del Carril.
- Creation of a wide open multipurpose esplanade, in a controlled way to the urban road, which can serve as parking on the surface with more than 85 seats in an infradotated area of ​​this need.
This esplanade may be used as a festive venue for various events that, throughout the year, are held on specific dates, with the only need to warn through vertical signage, the dates on which it will be enabled for these events.
When the works are completed, the surroundings of the old school Miguel Medina, a central place in the town, will have a more modern image, with more and better accessible spaces for pedestrians, and with a large number of parking spaces, much needed in this area. downtown of the municipality.
