Carlos Senent: "Citizens have contributed six million euros to adequately heat the educational centers, but the apathy of the regional government has led to a regrettable situation that is typical of past times"
Citizens have demanded that the regional government take urgent measures to heat the IES Pedro Guillén de Archena, a center in which students are required to carry blankets to withstand the intense cold of the classroom.
Carlos Senent, coordinator of organization of the Territorial Committee quarter of Citizens, has indicated not to understand "how it is possible that the apathy of the regional government has given rise to a situation that is typical of past times.
Given their disinterest in properly air conditioning educational centers, Citizens has provided six million euros in regional budgets this year that are available for urgent action in those centers that need it, including, obviously, the IES Pedro Guillén.
"We have been the ones who have given the idea and who have contributed the necessary financial amount to carry out the work, just as we did last year, but it is the regional government that must execute the works.
It is unfortunate that the welfare of our students is not a priority for them, "added Senent.
In this regard, he stressed that "the picture that can be seen inside the school is unworthy of our time, and the most unfortunate is that this situation has caused some students to get sick, as a result of the intense cold and high humidity, other important deficiencies are added as the break of some windows of the center ".
"The regional government must react immediately because you can not play with the health of our students," Senent concluded.
