The assembly hall of the Ramon Centenero Cultural Center in Archena was filled with visitors last night to attend the presentation of the book by the painter and draftsman Paco Torrano about the work and life of the great painter, also archenero, Inocencio Medina Vera, who, due to the centenary of his death, the Department of Culture is celebrating with a broad program of acts as a tribute and that will end later this year.
The event was chaired by Mayor Patricia Fernández and presented by Josefa Hernández, and was attended by Innocent's grandson, Isidoro Valcárcel Medina, who is now 82 years old, and is also a plastic artist.
Accompanied councilors of the Government Team, other councilors of the Corporation, the official reporter, Manolo Medina, and relatives of the honoree.
In addition, the room had on its sides a sample of the originals of all the illustrations made by the author of the book that are included in this publication and that deal with sequences of the life and work of this centenarian painter.
On the façade of the Cultural Center where the event was held, the portrait of Inocencio Medina was painted by another artist Carlos Callizo, inaugurated a month ago, and which is also part of the celebration program of the centenary of Medina Vera.
It ended, after the intervention of the mayor talking about the author of the publication and the centenary itself, with a video narrated by the presenter Josefa Hernández.
