The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Ángel del Amor, together with the Director of Agriculture, Francisco González, and the deputy in charge of this area, Jesús Cano, visited Archena this morning.
First, they met with Mayor Patricia Fernández, who, in turn, was accompanied by the Municipal Government Team.
In the City Hall, Patricia Fernandez has proposed to the Councilor the need to build a sewer and stormwater collector in the Archenera area of ​​the Almazara and that would serve the entire historic center, recover and rehabilitate the left bank of the Segura River to strengthen even more the tourism in the locality and to enable new helps to the agrifood companies of the municipality, like main vindications.
Later, they visited one of the most international companies in Archena, specifically the organic juices and nectars, Panarro Foods, located in the La Capellanía Industrial Estate.
During his visit to the facilities, both leaders said that Murcia's production of stone fruit, apricot, peach, cherry and plum, has already been collected by 80 percent, except for the latest varieties, mid-season and has been very positive.
They have also highlighted the importance of employment that these campaigns entail, "between 14,000 and 15,000 jobs are generated annually between field collection and handling warehouses," they also explained.
