The Ministry of Public Works rehabilitate the Archena Mario Spreafico avenue which is the main access to the town from the A-30 (12/01/2016)

The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the Directorate General of Highways, will launch a performance of rehabilitation and improvement in road T-554, which corresponds to the urban section of the RM-554, known as Mario Spreafico avenue, and which is the main artery for access to the town of Archena.

The Minister Francisco Barnabas and the mayor Patricia Fernandez signed the agreement for the implementation of this action, which will have a budget of around 600,000 euros, 248,855 euros of which correspond to the investment of the regional executive today.

The works will be secured and performed by the session.

Barnabas scored conditioning necessary stretch of road, which has a length of about 500 meters and ranges from Archena variant and the iron bridge over the River Segura, as he said, "records a high traffic intensity" , being the main axis of access to Archena from the A-30 and also connects the town, through the MU-522, with the populations of Valle de Ricote (Villanueva del Río Segura, Ulea and eyes).

The head of the Ministry of Development said "the road builds an intensity of about 4,895 vehicles a day and more than 1.786 million per year, which affects the state of the road surface and driving conditions."

The performance will consist of the complete refurbishment of the avenue, which includes strong reinforcement with hot asphalt, which will return the best conditions of safety and comfort.

Also, we will proceed to the renewal of the horizontal and vertical signs as well as the renovation of sidewalks and street furniture.
