The Board of Governors of the FEMP (Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces) has reiterated its support for Antonio Ledezma, at its meeting held on July 14, 2015, adhering to the "World Declaration of Mayors on illegal and illegitimate deprivation freedom of the Metropolitan Mayor of Caracas', sponsored by the Democratic Initiative of Spain and the Americas (IDEA).

This is an act of solidarity by the democratically elected mayors and heads of several municipalities, historically recognized as free cities, which made the request for release of political prisoners in Venezuela, particularly the democratic leader Leopoldo Lopez and the mayors Antonio Ledezma and Daniel Horses.
