More than 400 students in grades 5 and 6 participate in the Elementary Education program of the Local Police Road (21/05/2012)

During the week of 14 to 18 May 2012 took place at seven local schools on road safety education activities, programmed specifically for students in the second cycle of primary education (students aged 5 and 6 course).

Participating students have been about 400 or so, according to data provided by Jose Velasco, coordinator of the Road Safety Local Police ..

The program consisted of a talk given by the coordinator of the Cape, with the participation of police officers assigned to each school tutors.

In this exhibition have been addressed such topics as the different uses of the roads will elementary students (primarily as a pedestrian autonomous, often used as passenger transport, such as the family car or school bus, and in some cases as drivers of cycling), different types of vehicles, different types of signals, the signals of the agents and traffic accidents, the principal.

For the talk has been used three manuals provided by the Traffic Department, one on the pedestrian, another to the new standards for bicycle traffic and the last of them to traffic accidents, their causes, consequences and ways of avoiding .

Subsequently conducted a practical exercise consisting of a tab related talk given where students express what they learned.

Finally we made a talk between students and police to resolve issues of concern to children and the different questions that have arisen.
