Mayor Patricia Fernandez has said in the hall of the Museum of Archena this morning that "the City Council intend to clear discrimination of women and will continue working from the authorities on getting sensitize the entire population of men and women are equal at work, at home and in all aspects and sectors of life. With these words, the first municipal authority has inaugurated the Women's Week XXII-2012, which will last until next Sunday, and within which is expected to develop almost a dozen acts.
This opening also featured the Director of Prevention of Domestic Violence, Veronica Lopez, and the municipal charge of Equality, Manuela Moreno.
Among the public, and representatives and members of the six women's associations that are registered, also attended by Councillors of the government team and students of the Day Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities, as these are the authors of the sculpture Women's honor after it was discovered.
After the ceremony of the inauguration, members of the groups attending, and regional and local authorities visited the exhibition of the work already undertaken by various members of these associations, which is in the exhibition hall of the Museum.
After this visit, Mayor, Director General and Councillors discovered in the gardens of the museum's sculpture 'Sofonisba'.
A work devoted to women and that have been pupils of the Day Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities, who also attended the event with their monitors and responsible.
During the week, women of the six associations will conduct a cultural trip, several evenings of film and crafts, theater and music concerts, among others.
The week will end on Sunday with a wreath to the Employer at the Spa and the opening of the Museum of Esparto.
