The CHS opens a file for the discharge of chemicals into the river Segura in Archena (28/01/2011)

The Segura basin (CHS) has opened an investigation to determine the causes of the spill of chemicals into the river Segura in its passage through the Vega Media, while the flow rate increased to 5 cubic meters per second (5 m3 / s) and has closed all outlets downstream ditches as soon as possible to dilute the spill.

The CHS has received a communication from the Sanitation Authority Murcia (Esamur) under the Autonomous Community of Murcia, where it is reported that between 21 pm Wednesday and 11 am today, the treatment plant has Archena received a contribution from the sewage with high content of detergents, part of which has reached the point of discharge into the river Segura.

Immediately, the CHS Riverside Nursery has opened disciplinary proceedings to clarify the causes of the spill, which has been sampled for analysis, while the company responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the river Segura in Las Vegas and Media Baja del Segura is vigilant to detect any condition on the fauna and flora of the channel.

In turn, the CHS has increased the flow rate of the river Segura to 5 m3 / s the closure of all outlets downstream ditches Archena, in order to dilute the spill as soon as possible.

Finally, the CHS has taken all necessary measures to ensure that the water is agitated and create more foam, especially in the waterfalls, in particular, sculpture in honor of the Sardine.
