The Community increases by 9% the funding of CAVI de Archena (12/04/2017)

The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, through the Directorate General of Women, will improve the care for victims of gender violence in the municipality of Archena increasing by nine percent the funding of the Center for specialized care in women victims of Gender violence CAVI.

Archena's CAVI has increased this year to 55,744 euros, compared to 51,000 euros received in 2016, "which means an increase in hours of service by the psychologist and the maintenance of care by the worker Social and legal adviser of the center, "explained today the director general of Women, Alicia Barquero, who met with the mayor, Patricia Fernandez, at the Civic Center for Women in the town.

Barquero added that "this year we will allocate more than one million euros to the maintenance of the CAVIs Network and to reinforce the services they provide, in addition to the Points of Specialized Care (PAE) of Santomera and Torre Pacheco have already become CAVI Complete, according to the demand of users ".

The regional resource network has 21 CAVIs, which guarantee specialized care for women victims of gender violence in the 45 municipalities of the Region, as well as emergency care resources such as the 112 device and the Emergency Center.

The funding for shelters and sheltered housing, which goes from 190,000 euros received last year, to 240,000 euros today, is also increased by 26%, which will allow the start of another shelter in the municipality of Murcia, also maintain the five houses of Murcia, Cieza, Lorca, Cartagena and Molina de Segura.

More than 7,000 euros for conciliation

The fight against gender violence is fundamental to make legal equality between women and men a real equality.

For this reason, the regional government has established gender violence, along with equality in employment and conciliation, as the priority axis of the Strategic Plan for Equal Opportunities 2014-2016.

The Ministry will allocate more than 7,200 euros to actions to reconcile work and family life in municipalities with aid for municipalities in the Region, and grants to provide services to reconcile work and private life, co-financed at 80 percent per The European Social Fund.
