The Secretary of State for Trade and Mayor reinauguran the Municipal Food Market after its recent major remodeling (04/11/2016)

The Secretary of State for Trade, Jaime García Legaz, and the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, reopened at noon facilities Municipal Market, after its recent major remodeling.

the second and final phase of this market reopened today, although it has been the scene of several more previous performances.

This phase has cost 102,000 euros, thanks to obtaining a grant from the Ministry of Commerce, worth 81,658 euros, and the City has contributed another 20,000, with which there has been a definite boost to this property dating from 1952, and has become a modern, comfortable and attractive market for shopping.

The works in this second phase consisted of painting, with colors boiler, brick red and gray, the 3,300 square meters of facades and interiors both exterior walls as well as the re-roof the building and the arrangement of the interior courtyard.

This second phase has cost 102,000 euros and ended last week.

The renovations have had two phases.

In the first, they have invested more than 43,000 euros (20,000 invested the region and 23,000 City Hall), and the works consisted mainly in changing existing fixtures and installing new ones, all with LED system .

It has also changed the skylight inside a translucent plate and renewed the pavement, in addition to performing other small maintenance jobs.

The Mayor stressed the importance of this food market in the town, while he wants to turn it into a place of reference within the region.

Patricia Fernandez thanked traders "extraordinary collaboration during the project and the works" and expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of this major refurbishment, highlighting, above all, the creation of a children's playroom, inside the market .

Patricia Fernandez also said after the reopening, that "small business is to Archena a fundamental economic pillar, generating employment, hence the large bet made by the City Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, the modernization of our food market. "

Meanwhile, market traders have expressed their appreciation for the efforts that the City of Murcia and the Secretary of State for Trade have been made to encourage purchases in shops in the town.
