Archena made a promotional video to raise awareness of the richness and particularities of Holy Week (16/03/2016)

The Director General of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson, Maria Comas, and the Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Women's Hall of Murcia, María del Carmen Alcolea, today introduced a new video to promote the Easter archenera.

During the ceremony he was also attended by the president of the Superior Council of Brotherhoods of Murcia, Pedro Prieto.

The production, which will be broadcast from now through social networks, has been realized through the collaboration between the city of Murcia, the Superior Council of Guilds and archenera telecommunications company Mapeka, who performed all the recordings for last year and it has been responsible for the making of the video.

Maria Comas congratulated the City of Murcia "for this new initiative that aims to provide a wealth Easter as the archenera, declared of Regional Tourist Interest".

The Director General recalled that Easter "has become, as in many other municipalities in the region, an important cultural and economic pillar for the town and thanks to promotional campaigns like this continue to grow and become increasingly known both by Murcia as visitors to the region during this time. "

The promotional video on Easter Archena has a total duration of two minutes on it are represented all the processions that take place every year in the town, the 12 brotherhoods that make up the Supreme council and the bands of municipality.

Through images, you can be seen, for example, the solemnity and the gathering of the Procession of Silence and the Via Crucis, during the night of Thursday to Friday.

The public can also meet strong traditions as the 'Unlocking' Friday afternoon that takes place.

The image of the Holy Christ of Calvary, an articulated archenero size by the sculptor Enrique Salas, is down from the Cross and placed in the Holy Sepulchre to ride on the solemn procession of the Holy Burial.

During Holy Week Archena also highlight, and so stated in the video, the processions that take place during the morning of Good Friday and, especially, the Easter Sunday, characterized by the jubilation and joy and each year has more participation and public attendance to watch the game and the 'dance' steps.

This tradition, along with candy, confetti and balloons and pigeons loose, makes this procession a benchmark in the region.
