The action began when a patrol of motorcyclists from the Murcia Civil Guard Traffic Detachment, who were carrying out a preventive control of alcohol and drugs at kilometer 6.5 of the RM-533 road (Archena-Alguazas) When a bus driver was required to undergo the mandatory tests, he gave a positive result for breathalyzer. In these circumstances, the bus driver, who had just disembarked agricultural workers in Ceutí from Cancarix (Albacete), was reported to the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Murcia, for an infraction of article 20 of the General Traffic Regulations, when circulating with a level of alcohol in expired air higher than the allowed 0.15 mg / l, a fact that is sanctioned with a fine of 1,000 euros and the loss of 6 points of his driving license, having to travel to another checkpoint driver from the same company to take over the vehicle. The Civil Guard continues to reiterate its message to those drivers who recklessly and recklessly, despite the campaigns and warnings of the General Traffic Directorate, drive after having drunk or taken drugs, recalling that, without prejudice to the systematic performance of Ordinary or special preventive controls, the mandatory breathalyzer and drug tests will be carried out on drivers who are reported for the commission of infractions, involvement in accidents or those others in which their consumption is detected in the course of other surveillance and inspection activities that are carried out, in order to make citizens aware of the incompatibility of these substances with driving. On the other hand, the Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia wants to appeal to the civic conscience of the population so that they notify the telephone 062 (Civil Guard) or 112 (Emergencies) or directly to the patrols on duty, when they encounter situations anomalous or irregular maneuvers that give rise to think that drivers do so under the influence of drugs or alcohol, in order to be able to adopt the appropriate police measures so that these vehicles are intercepted and checked if their drivers are in the appropriate conditions to circulate with safety guarantees, avoiding the consequent risk.
