Centenary of the death of the archenero painter Inocencio Medina Vera. (18/11/2019)

Representatives of about thirty local associations and other professionals from the world of music, film, painting, teaching, among others, received their corresponding distinctions of thanks for their organization and participation in the wide range of events organized last night. for a year on the occasion of the centenary of the death of the archenero painter Inocencio Medina Vera.

Very good public assistance at the Villa de Archena theater where this closing gala was held, which was chaired by the Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, and the Director of Cultural and Arts Industries, Juan Manuel Lorca, who also delivered the Recognitions and distinctions.

The event was entertained and accompanied by the metal group of the Santa Cecilia de Archena Music Band and presented by the Archene television channel Encarna Talavera.

The ballet of Elena Clara with her interpretations of dances of the time, tango, classic Spanish and chotis, and the poetry recitals of Vicente Medina, by the Vicente Medina Literary Association or theatrical scenes starring the group Create-Te, also works of the poet archenero, followed while the presenter narrated the artistic life of the honored painter.

Inocencio Medina Vera was an archenero painter who was born in 1876 and highlighted with great and famous paintings that are some of them in the premises of the Autonomous Community of Murcia and the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia and others in private collections.

He also decorated with his paintings the theater Romea de Murcia, the City Council of Cartagena, the Casino de Torrevieja, among other buildings.

He was also an important and constant collaborator of ABC and Madrid Comedian and magazines, among which Black and White stands out.

In Archena, during these twelve months he was dedicated a plaque in the place where he was born, a gigantic mural on the side of the Cultural Center, as well as in the Plaza de España and more than fifty between acts and competitions related to his life and work artistic.

He died in Archena on October 28, 1918, at age 42.
