The institute Vicente Medina de Archena receives one of the national awards eTwinning 2019 (30/06/2019)

The Region of Murcia presented this course 251 projects, 14 percent more than in the previous

The IES Vicente Medina de Archena received one of the national eTwinning 2019 awards granted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

The center was awarded for its project 'Tras la huella de Safo', which was carried out together with two other institutes, the IES Melchor de Macanaz de Castilla-La Mancha and the IES Sureda i Blanes of the Balearic Islands.

The teacher who presented the project was Lorena Lorente, of the IES Vicente Medina de Archena.

The work starts from the figure of Sappho, a Greek poet, to work the role of women in society from antiquity to the present day.

To do this, he deepens his life and work by analyzing his mark on current European culture.

The jury valued the excellent organization and collaboration between the partners, as well as the originality and creativity of the products produced, such as videos, interviews, poems or presentations, where the students were the protagonists.

This course, the Region presented 251 projects and there were 467 teachers registered in the eTwinning platform.

In the previous year there were 220 projects presented, which represents an increase of 14 percent.

"Talking about projects Eramus + is synonymous with modernization, mobility, creativity and the Region of Murcia Our Community is a national reference in this sense," said the general director of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality, Francisco Martínez.

The eTwinning program is a tool on the use of the Internet to develop twinning between European schools and for the promotion of teacher training.

The initiative was officially launched in January 2005, within the framework of the 2004-2006 eLearning program.

The objective was to reinforce and develop school networks in a European environment to enable schools to establish pedagogical partnerships with each other.

During the period 2014-2020 eTwinning is integrated into the Erasmus + program for education, culture and sports.

Currently, teachers can participate in eTwinning of educational stages prior to university.

In the Region of Murcia there is a network composed of seven ambassadors.

An eTwinning ambassador is a teacher with extensive experience in the program, who has participated in numerous projects, has achieved the National or European Quality Seal recognition on at least one occasion or has been awarded a national or European eTwinning award.

Its function is to spread the benefits of the program and to help other teachers who are starting, both in matters of a technical and pedagogical nature.
